eeeek

I was getting ready to go out this morning, ironing a blouse to wear in my studio which is right next door to my bedroom. Sienna started meowing and wouldn't shut up. She can be very vocal when she wants something and I couldn't see her from where I was standing. So, I finally tracked her down and found her on the bed. Looking up. At this—

eek

It reminds me of that silly 1970s poster of the cat hanging from his front paws that said "Hang in there, baby." This little guy was hanging on for dear life and looking at me with big sad eyes. After snapping a quick photo I went downstairs for some heavy gloves, thinking I'd try to grab him and put him outside. It can be a bit tricky but I've done that before. By the time I got back upstairs he was already gone. Both cats have been pawing at the space behind my dresser for hours but I suspect he's escaped through the radiator into one of the holes in the floorboards. Old house, lots of escape routes. Lucky mouse!

I'm just full of wild animal stories these days, aren't I? Speaking of which, it's getting dark and time to bring in the bird feeders. No sign of that bear but I'm not taking any chances.

Awe...I know I would eeek too, but in this picture he looks so cute! We had a hamster that I absolutely loved, so I am rather fond of mice (I just don't like rat tails).

Adorable. how neat you had time to get this picture. I know, mice are dirty and carry disease. But I have always had a soft spot for them.

I love that you took a photo before doing anything else!

I know! It's funny how when you start blogging and need to post frequently that everything in your life becomes subject matter. My camera is always within reach :)

And I'm not one to run screaming when I see a mouse. I don't like them in the house but it doesn't freak me out—they are pretty cute. Spiders, however, are another story. I know they catch other insects and I've tried to embrace their usefulness. But I still don't like them.

I thought that was a squirrel! He looks big. I'm afraid I'd probably let the cats get it having grown up with mice running through our house - yech! Although, I had pet hamsters that were cute...must be the tail thing.

So cute! Will show this to my family. I can hear my daughter, "Awwwww, so adorable"!
It would not be as cute if it were in my house. ;)

Oh, my gosh!!! I would freaked at the sight, but I have to say, that photo is one of the cutest ever! And of course all feline friends will be hugely entertained, as though you invited the critter in just for them! thanks for the chuckle today!

I'm very impressed that you thought to get a picture! He is cute, isn't he.

It must be that time of year. I've read several "mouse in the house" related blog posts lately.

Let's hope the resident kitties scared him back out. :)

Yikes! They're cute...but I hate it when they get in the house! I can't believe you were able to a pic of him... Now that's keeping your camera handy!

How cute can a mouse be? That picture is so great... My cats catch a mouse very once in awhile and they have soooo much fun. I always feel kind of bad. I'm glad he escaped.
