stuck indoors

We're having terrible weather today—snow with freezing rain on top and very high winds. Our yard is littered with branches that have broken off from our big trees and two smallish trees in our woods have snapped off about halfway up. A big tree blew down a few houses up and is now lying across the road blocking traffic. This is the main route for the fire and ambulance vehicles to get out to the highway so they're frantically working on cutting it up and unblocking the route. What a mess!

The cozy you'll receive has a slightly different pearl button.

A good day for working indoors! And I'll get to that in a few minutes. First, a giveaway! I haven't done one for ages so let's do one today for a snowflake tissue cozy in honor of the weather. Leave a comment today or tomorrow. I'll choose a winner tomorrow evening around 6pm EST and post that person's name. Once you send a shipping address I'll pop it into the mail. Since I can fit this into a small envelope and mail first-class international for a reasonable fee, the giveaway is open to everyone. Good luck!

Updated to add that I've been getting several comments over the past week in Asian foreign languages from anonymous posters. I will not post these comments. #1 because I can only read English and a little Spanish and I have no idea what you're trying to say. #2 because the ones I have bothered to translate online have nothing to do with the post and are, in fact, verging on pornographic. #3 You aren't trying to link to anything so I don't get why you're doing this. Please cut it out people!

It has been unseasonably cold here in Northern California, it was 27 when I got in the car at 8:15. Stay warm!

It has been lovely weather here in Aberdeenshire, Scotland for a change. This afternoon I was out in the park with my little boy Finlay, maybe you could send him some of your snow for Christmas. Happy holidays to you all.

Not to bad today here in the south. But we have a lot of wind which is causing some trees to come down. Thanks for the chance for the Kleenex cozy! Love it!

I know how you feel -- most of our little town is without power (we've been spared) and the wind keep howling!

Cold and breezy here in Texas. I really miss living in MN and all the beautiful snow, but not so much the coooold.

Glum and miserable here - have been cutting out a stocking pattern for the stocking for my daughter's first Christmas and found your site via a good search for blanket stitch!
Great blog.

Oooh, super cute! I've been making a few travel tissue holders as stocking stuffers, but mine don't have an adorable button and loop closure!

Stay warm and don't blow away!

Dang! That sounds cold!

I've been saying it is cold here in SoCal, but honestly all we get is chill rain. It gets down to freezing at night, but into the 50s during the day. (That makes me Official Weather Wimp of this blog, I guess.) We don't do the frozen stuff except up in the mountains where it belongs.

Have fun with your indoor toys!

Wish we were getting snow but that doesn't happen in the desert.
I love the Kleenex cozy I collect snowflakes. Thanks for sharing.

It's cold even here in Texas as we expect a 22 degree night. I would love to win this cute cozy and love the snowflake fabric.

We got the snow and freezing rain mix here, too. Very messy. I hope that tree is gone!

We've been having a cold snap here in northern Idaho--around zero at night the last several nights. I stay in as much as I can! Cute cozy!

Hi there, here in Norfolk UK the temp is about 45F. We haven't even had the heating on yet, because the house is flooded with sunlight. It won't last of course, but we're enjoying it while we can.
The cozy is really pretty. It's great to have an 'open' giveaway, and very kind of you. Best wishes and have a lovely Christmas.

Here in lower Michigan we only have a very light dusting of snow, but the winds have been terrible! My poor little doggie is just about blown over when he goes outside! Love your cozie! How cool that it is completely closed instead of having the tissue haning out!
