green scene

notebooks and sachets

Yesterday I was a vendor at Keystone College's first Green Vendor Fair, part of their Earth Week activities. I was an art student at Keystone many years ago (when it was still a two-year school) and it was great to be back on campus and reminisce about the time I spent there. Great small school and art program, lots of personal attention; my friends and I still talk about how our years there were some of our best.

key fobs and laundry bags
Key fobs were popular and the laundry bags are a new item—look for them soon on my website.

The coordinator of this fair made everything so easy—thanks, Nora, you did a great job! Tables (and tablecloths) and chairs were provided; we even got to spread out over two tables and you'd be surprised how easily you can fill more space (do I need my own shop or what?). The building was wireless so I could process credit cards on my laptop. I got a great spot—near the stairway and the band! There was lots of traffic and, even though I didn't make tons of money (as someone mentioned, college students don't have much of it to spend), I had a great time, met some wonderful fellow crafters, and heard about a couple of opportunities that may turn out to be good for business. So, all in all, a good experience. And I live just 20 minutes away so was packed up and home within an hour.

vintage button hair pins
Hair pins made from stacked vintage buttons were also popular; these aren't on my website yet either.
