My two girls like to be where I am in the house so, when I’m working in my studio, they are, too. Although working may not be the best word to describe their activities. They sleep a lot, of course. This is Sienna doing just that:
Sienna likes to jump up into the closet or from my worktable to the top of the armoire where I store my fabric. Amaya likes to play with thread and push buttons off the table to watch them bounce across the floor. Don’t be fooled by how innocent she looks in this picture.
For those of you who haven’t seen my cats before, they’re purebred bengals. Bengals are descended from Asian leopard cats and are a relatively new breed—1980s, I think. The early lines were pretty wild, but these are just like regular housecats. Well, maybe not just. They like water, have strong personalities, like to talk, and are fierce hunters (pity the poor mouse that comes into my house). Sienna has typical coloring, Amaya is called a blue or silver but it's really more of a peachy gray. And she has the softest fur I’ve ever felt. They aren’t very hard workers, but they're happy to be paid in treats. And I love them dearly anyway.
More Studio Friday here.

They are beautiful!
They are so sweet. What great studio friends.
Awww... they're adorable! I just love kitties! :)
They are beautiful...lovely fur...I love to see my cat chasing buttons and stuff even if it was to be used in a piece...makes me smile and reminds me of what's important!

Beautful cats. Do you have any problems with cat-hair-in-the-studio? My cat's favorite activity is drinking the paint water. We're in constant conflict over that. And I'm always picking cat hair out of my watercolors...
They are gorgeous cats! I love the markings and can see that they have the finest, softest fur! Are they about the same size as the average domestic cat? Beauties!!!!

Yes, Gabi, they're the same size as regular cats - about 10 pounds. As for cat hair, Tara, they really don't shed very much. I'm careful to brush then a lot (which they like anyway) and that helps to control it. Of course, they don't get to sleep on my fabrics either :)
They have such gorgeous markings. This was the first I have ever heard of this breed.
They're very pretty! I love watching cats sleep...
Precious!
Cat who like water? Amazing! I'm not a cat fan, but look beautiful and yours sound like fun. Especailly watching them play with your art materials! Must be so amusing.
Oh - those pictures just want to make me "squish" them! Then I'd start sneezing, my eyes would water, etc. but it would be worth it! Fabulous post!
I have to agree with everyone else, cute cats with beautiful fur.
Absolutely beautiful cats!
