goodies

Some goodies from my trip to Weil Antiques Center in Allentown last Saturday:

Aren't these just the best buttons? In all my years of collecting and selling buttons I've never seen these before. And, no (don't even ask), I won't be selling these! I'm not even sure I can bear to use them myself.

A vintage Vogart embroidered runner/dresser scarf. Sure hope he's not going to tomahawk that cute little doggie. He does look a little worried, doesn't he?

Lil' Injun

A vintage border print fabric with bright red daisies was made into a curtain panel. I'll probably use it for something diffferent—maybe an apron.

It was good to get out and do some hunting—antique malls are great for that this time of year. Except for a few Ebay purchases I really haven't been buying much this winter. That's OK—my cash flow is better and I'm getting the chance to use what I have on hand.

I have a stash of old buttons from my Grandma. She was a very poor Mennonite lady who made simple patchwork quilts for my dad and his siblings and for her and her husband out of necessity in Canada. And so as not to spend too much she would buy clothes from the thrift shops to use as fabric on the quilts but she would keep the buttons. Maybe someday I should take some pictures for you.

I wouldn't be able to use those sweet pretty buttons either...just frame them & look at them. That is a cute embroidery & pup does look a bit concerned. :)

Great finds! I've never seen buttons in that design either.
And I would have fought you for that cute border print. LOL
I have a huge stash of border print fabrics that I can't bring myself to part with.

I am itchin' for a good flea market. Last week I found a hand full of feedsacks at an antique mall, but like you, I haven't bought much at all this winter.

I adore those buttons! I'm so jealous! I need buttons like I need a whole in my head, good thing you aren't selling them!
